Real life hero: Ryan Reynolds, 40, took to Twitter on Wednesday to back up heartbroken fan Gabi Dunn, who had replaced her ex-boyfriend in their prom photo with an image of the star
Tweeting Ryan directly, Gabi said: ‘My boyfriend and I broke up a few days after prom, so I decided to “edit” the photos a little.’
And Ryan, who’s no stranger to his own funny Twitter posts, was so amused by the dig he re-tweeted the hilarious image himself.
Ryan captioned: ‘We should Photoshop me over his yearbook picture next. #DontMessWithGabi.’
In just a few hours the post was re-tweeted more than 34,000 times and favourited nearly 200,000 times.

But events took an unexpected turn when Gabi’s ex-boyfriend Jeff Bright chimed back in with his own cheeky jibe.
Hitting the Hollywood star where it hurts – the Box Office – Jeff replied: ‘Jokes on you now I’m not going to see Deadpool 2, my $11 is going to Kevin Hart.’ (sic)
Jeff shared a photo of the original prom snap minus Ryan, removing the Canadian actor in favour of his own face.
Ryan is happily married to actress Blake Lively, 29.
The pair have been married since 2012 and have since welcomed two daughters; James, two, Ines, 10 months.
Blake and Ryan initially met filming the movie that had marked the last time Ryan had a go at playing a superhero; the 2010 box office disappointment Green Lantern.
The first Deadpool movie, on the other hand, was a smash hit last year, wrangling the all-time highest global theatrical gross for a R-rated movie, according to Time.

Though Deadpool was helmed by Tim Miller in his feature directing debut, the sequel’s being directed by David Leitch, whose film Atomic Blonde is out July 28.
Yet the duo of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who’d written the first film’s bristling screenplay, have stayed on as screenwriters for the upcoming Deadpool 2.
Ryan offered a hint as to the plot of the next Deadpool film when tweeted a photo last month of himself dressed as his character lying in front of a stone castle.
‘Dropped by the X-Mansion. Big f***ing surprise. No one’s home,’ he wrote over the photo, referring to the headquarters of Deadpool’s fellow Marvel mutants, the X-Men.
Ryan’s trainer Don Saladino, who’s helped him get into shape for this new film, dished to Men’s Journal recently that ‘Ryan is in the best shape of his life now.’
Don’s explained to the monthly magazine that ‘There are better results coming now than he saw years ago, and he doesn’t leave the gym feeling wiped out.’
